COLON CANCER SCREENING
Colon Cancer Screening
Colon and rectum cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Colon cancer screening is one of the most common tests for men and women ages 50 to 85 using high sensitivity fecal occult testing (FOBT), sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy, which is the most common. Dr. Pellegrin will recommend the best colon cancer screening test for you based on your issues.
Preparing for your colon cancer screening: (colonoscopy)
In order for the test to be accurate and effective, the patient must avoid eating solid food the day before the exam, adjust medications that you may be taking, and use laxatives or enemas to empty your colon. The colon must be completely clean for the procedure to produce the most accurate and comprehensive results.
The earlier colon cancer is detected, the easier it is to treat! Call our office today for a consultation with Dr. Pellegrin to see if a colon cancer screening is what you need!
