1. What insurances are accepted?

Gastroenterology Center of the South accepts most major insurances including:

  • Aetna Health Plans
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO
  • Cigna
  • First Health Network
  • Gilsbar
  • Humana
  • Medicare
  • People’s Health Network
  • PHCS/MultiPlan
  • PPO Plus
  • United Healthcare
  • Vantage

It is best to check with you insurance to make sure of your coverage. Our staff is happy to help with communication with your insurance company.

2. Do I need to pay my whole co-pay at my visit?

Yes, the full co-pay is due when you sign into the office. If co-pay is not paid and other arrangements have not been made, then the appointment will be rescheduled.

3. What do I need to bring with me to my visit?

The following MUST be brought to your office visit and presented at sign in:

  • Pictures ID (driver’s license)
  • Insurance Card
  • Co-pay money
  • List of medication or the medication bottles (this includes over the counter medications)

You may also bring your patient forms already filled out to speed up the check in process.

4. Do I need to fast before my visit?

For most office visits, fasting is NOT required. If for some reason, the patient needs to fast then he/she will be notified with the appointment is confirmed the day before.

5. Will the procedure be performed the day I come into the office?

The procedure will not be done the day of your office visit. The office visit is only to get information about your family history and medications. The procedure will be scheduled during this visit.
